ΟΥΓΓΑΡΙΑ – EGER

4th Mobility- Eger-Hungary: 5/3- 9/3

1st Day: 

All partners were welcomed by host teachers, were taken on a trip to Noszvaj village, visited cave dwellings and De la Motte mansion, attended a museum pedagogical workshop on Hungarian culture and the Matyo folk art, connected to Easter, tried archery.

Evening: teachers visited Home Thummerer wine cellar, where they tried local wine and foods and played quiz on music and dance.

2nd Day:

 Welcoming celebration by students from 1st to 4th class in Deák Street. Students showed visitor teachers around their school- teachers also visited Kodály method music lesson, folk dance and folk singing lessons.

Afternoon: Web 2.0 tools workshops on the use of digital tools and learning apps usable in everyday school life, such as Quizlet, Canva, video making and Bamboozle, followed by a seminar on the use of Webquest (introduction, description, strengths and weaknesses, producing a Webquest in teams).

Evening: open air bath in Demjén hot baths followed by traditional Hungarian dinner. 

3rd Day: 

Students introduced the Kossuth Street school building to guests in groups according to countries. Visiting teachers taught Hungarian students about their traditional Music and Dance, in English, combining traditional with digital tools. Both students and teachers were enthusiastic about the lessons, which definitely were a unique moment in our mobility!!

In the afternoon, guests were taken on a sightseeing tour of Eger and visited Time Tunnel, where they discovered Eger’s cellar system.

Day finished with dinner at Excalibur medieval restaurant, the atmosphere of which travelled guests back in medieval times.

4th Day

Trip to Budapest: House of Music- Guided tour of the building, guests took part in a 3D virtual presentation of how everyday objects can create music, but also learned about the architecture of this unique building.

Afternoon: guided visit at Heroes square, learning about Hungarian history and eminent personalities, followed by Guided tour in Andrássy Avenue (Kodály Zoltán’s home, subway)

Evening: return and dinner in Eger, accompanied by traditional live Hungarian music!

5th Day: 

Seminar by a trainer on the Kodály methodology, which focuses on the Kodály principles of music education, how they can be integrated into a developmental school program and is inscribed as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. With the trainer’s help, teachers had the ability to practice and improve intonation, rhythm skills and the ability to sing. Guests also learned about the dance house method, an interactive, collaborative and Kinesthetic method. 

Afternoon: coordinators meeting was held, where the results of the 5 days were summarized and the plan for the forthcoming activities was set.

Evening: farewell dinner with traditional Hungarian dishes and drinks. Guest teachers had the opportunity to experience dance house method in practice with the help of two folk dance performers!
