The 2nd Primary School is a small public school in Filyro, Thessaloniki. Most students come from middle income class, some have limited communication, information and engagement skills beyond school, and pupils from the “Children’s Village in Filyro”(an institution for neglected and abused children) also attend lessons in our school. Apart from having experience in European projects (Erasmus, etwinning, Comenius) , our school is twinned with the 3rd Primary School of Latsia, Cyprus. Through this project we aim at motivating students towards English language learning, enhancing their ICT skills, inspiring a feeling of European vision in them, and ultimately, making them aware of the intercultural and international side of education. By integrating the topic of cultural heritage in our curriculum, inclusion of all students, irrespectively of differences or disabilities is achieved, as culture is the link between classroom theory and the real world. Our school aims at enhancing its internationalization and improving knowledge, methodology and skills of our staff through collaboration and exchange of ideas and best practices among European partners.
